Terres d’ Afrique - Sustainable Amenities from Africa; Inspired by Africa

Posted by Nico Brits on

Terres d’ Afrique is a Range ethically sourced and sustainably made Luxury Amenities that will enhance the Guest Experience at Luxury Lodges and Hotels.

The range is used in amongst other The Silo Hotel, Singita; Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island; The Oberoi Mauritius and other high end properties.

Terres d’ Afrique endeavours to provide the safest and healthiest products possible based on the current scientific knowledge of ingredients available.

The improved formulas are free of sulphates, mineral oils, parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrance, artificial colouring agents and GMO’s.

The amenity products have not been tested on animals. To achieve our sustainability and preservation of biodiversity goals, our amenities are close to 100% biodegradable.

The carefully selected ingredients show no bioaccumulation to protect the fragile ecosystems in which our clients operate their properties.

The range eliminates as much as possible single use plastic packaging and encourage clients to use the refillable options.

The fragrance was formed on the axis of herbaceous resinous African herbs & shrubs.

Heralded for its freshness, depth and warmth. A clean, yet unexpectedness prevails with the inclusion of the rare and precious omumbiri combined with tropical basil and ylang ylang. Omumbiri or Namibian Myrrh has been traditionally used by the Himba of Namibia to make their traditional perfume.

The IRDNC (integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation) has developed a sustainable project selling omumbiri for community upliftment and women empowerment.

Social Responsibility

Himba tribes live in the Kunene region, a vast desert land in North West Namibia. The IRDNC (Integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation) has developed a sustainable project using Omumbiri for income generation among the Himba to maintain their nomadic life style and culture. By using Omumbiri, Terres d’Afrique is empowering Himba women in Namibia.

Our products are ethically sourced and sustainably made because we believe
that our health is inseparable from the health of the earth. Protecting biodiversity and uplifting communities are at the core of our business ethics."
